The polar vortex shifted closer to the NE region of the jet stream. There is a another cycle moving from the NW towards the Rockies pushing the jet stream to create a trough over the great lakes.

The high pressure system remains in the Midwest carrying the still record lows for April. A Low pressure system is moving from the cycle in the NW carrying large amounts of precipitation. This low pressure will cause another snowfall during Sunday/Sunday night.

The snow should reach southeastern Minnesota around 1 pm tomorrow and bringing a series of snow starting Sunday afternoon to Monday morning.

Snow will spread across the region on Sunday. Four to seven inches of snow are likely to fall in Southwest Minnesota, with the heaviest snow falling Sunday afternoon.
