A large low pressure system has moved into the US carrying to very long cold fronts with it.

The jet stream has shifted slightly to the south, not by much. The polar vortex also remains in position to continue to bring cooler temperatures over this area.

Temperatures are at there coldest north of the highest cold front. This is also the coldest day of the week. After tonight, the temperatures should move up slightly to 30 degrees for the weekend.

Any are that is south of the cold front can expect large quantities of precipitation that will bring a series of rain. The locations that are next to the front might even see some mild snow.
